Eligibility criteria for Engineering

To get admission in engineering you have to qualify certain eligibility criteria. The eligibility required for all engineering streams are the same. Here are the criteria as follows:


Total Duration of each course: 3 Years

The candidates must qualify 10+2 with science combination. They must have physics, chemistry, math compulsorily. In case you wish to pursue computer engineering, you must have computer science in your 10+2 combination.

You must qualify JEE exams to get admission in any of the engineering colleges. To try and get admission in colleges out of your state, you must crack the AIEEE. To gain admission in IIT, you have to qualify in IITJEE.

Career scope for Engineering

There are many career scopes for the different engineering streams in private and public sectors.


Mechanical Engineering- It is a core stream. You can join many public sectors companies after graduation.

Electrical Engineering- This is another core stream which provide immense opportunities in private and public sector industries.

Electronics Engineering- Electronics engineering is one of the first fundamental stream of engineering and there is a high demand for graduates of the subject in every industry.

Computer Engineering- Computer engineers are in high demand in IT departments.

Civil Engineering- The core stream is in highly demand especially in public sector where construction works are undertaken by the government occasionally.

Chemical Engineering- This is one of the newer branches of engineering which have been particularly in high demand and hence job opportunities are high.
